Peeled off all the old carpeting on my boat, and realized most of the wood in the back half of my boat is pretty rotted. My question is, is there a specific type of wood that I am supposed to use to make the floor of the boat. It looks like it was really thick plywood, but that wouldnt seem right. Greenwood brand pressure treated xl ply panels are what boat mfgs use but you may have a hard time finding sheets locally. When I looked for it they would only do a special order to get it.

fiberglass would cost way more then ply. ive replaced many many bass boat floors with cheap ply coated on both sides with cheap poly glass resin. and they last three times longer then marine ply and their weight isnt that bad at all. just make sure you coat all the wood,every cut and every hole you make in it.
